Happy Birthday Jesus Cake

We have been making something special for Jesus birthday for at least 3 years now. A tradition I wish we started longer ago but I'm just happy we do it now. We need to remember what the day really is about. My kids love being able to do something special for Jesus. They look forward to us singing him Happy Birthday! We just made a simple funfetti cake I used Christmas sprinkles of course and we decorated it with Christmas M&M's and more Christmas sprinkles.

A cake for my Rain

When we celebrated our Pats Heavenly birthday I also made my Rain a cake. It is a chocolate cake with cream cheese filling and Chocolate butter cream frosting. It was very yummy. I used Dark Chocolate kisses to form a heart and leftover Valentines M&M's to fill the heart. I always buy extra bags of Valentines M&M's because I do LOVE Pink :)

When I was preggers with my Rain I was sick the whole 9 months one of the only things she occasionally let me hold down at the end was these cakes from HEB a chocolate cream cheese cake so that's why this was the perfect cake for my Rain.

St.Patricks Day 2015

St.Patricks day is my Dads favorite holiday so I try to do something nice for the day! I did leprechaun bait the night before with the kids...we didn't get a chance to build a trap this year :(  We also read the Night Before St.Patricks Day! I love this set of books the Night Before!! Here is what we had for St.Patricks Day!

Corned Beef and Cabbage of course!! My dad actually doesn't like this at all haha but its tradition that I make it and everyone else eats a bit of it. My mom is the one who really likes it!
Here was the Table!
I also make Shepherds Pie this is for my dad but honestly everyone except my mom likes this better but I gotta stick to tradition so I make both.
These cupcakes have lucky charm marshmallows in the middle super cute!!!
I made some plates to give out to my neighbors!!
The leprechaun left the kids treasure and they left some clues for them to do a scavenger hunt!! The kids found their treasure in the fridge :) They had a fun time doing this!!
Our 2nd cupcake. These are rainbow cupcakes then my butter cream frosting tinted Green then added a rainbow candy and a Rolo :) These will last a few days more then the ones with the marshmallows in the middle :)

I also made Irish Soda bread for my Dad but forgot to take a picture of it and by the time I thought of it there was only a small piece left!!

My dad enjoyed the day and the kids had lots of fun!!

Cupcake Train

A few weekends ago we celebrated a special little angels 6th Birthday. He is in Heaven with our babygirl and I know they are such good friends. Every year for his birthday his family throws a big birthday party just like us. I love that they do! I love when us parents of the babies we don't have here with us on Earth still celebrate and do things for our babies. They always do his birthday at a park and its HUGE!! I always like to bring cupcakes!! This year I made a cupcake Train I got this awesome Idea from http://abrittwithoutboys.blogspot.com/2009/12/cupcake-train.html

I saw it and knew this would be PERFECT for his birthday party. I added some mini cupcakes too because I knew there would be lots of kids and I also like having different flavors for the kids to choose from. The ones on the train itself are all chocolate!! The mini ones are funfetti with my butter cream frosting and more sprinkles :) You can never have enough sprinkles for anything!!!!

I actually didn't get very good pictures. I forgot to take them so after I set them up I went to talk which I do best and I asked my mom to go get some pictures hehe this is what I got :) Thanks mom!!!

Detox Bath

I know I've said it before but this year I'm really trying to clean my body up in any way that I can. I know my eating isn't great I do try to eat clean a week out of the month and will try to increase that number but in the mean time I'm going to try to clean my body in the ways I'm doing. I started the Detox baths 4 weeks ago. I take one every week. I stay in for 20-25 mins. I did a simple one but what I've read is supposed to be one of the best. You just need two things!

 1 cup of Epson Salt
 1 cup of Baking Soda
Pour both into a Warm bath! They say the hotter the better I do mine warm/hot not too Hot because I don't feel too comfortable when it's too hot. Maybe in time :) I have also read where people say staying in 40 mins it's better for you then just 20. In the 20 minute time you do get your detox in!!

You need to be careful till you know how your body will react to the bath. People have felt light headed and have headaches after. The best time to do this bath is right before going to bed because you will get your energy sucked out of you for the time being.

A Night in Mexico

Last night we had our two neighbors over for dinner. Our theme was Mexico! Here is what we had!!

These beef enchiladas are awesome!! I'm not even a beef enchilada fan and I will NEVER order them at restaurants but these baby's I will EAT!! I found this recipe about a year ago and made them but when everyone was saying how good they were I had to try and man were they right these are the best!
This Chorizo Chicken I never made before but it was one of those recipes I pinned and looked awesome so I figured our dinner party was an excellent time to try it. I only used 4 chicken breasts because mine were big and I didn't use any cheese! This was a very good recipe.
This Ropa Vieja is awesome every time I make it people ask for the recipe.
I use a 4lb Chuck Roast instead of 2 lbs of Beef Flank Steak and I double the whole recipe. The last hour I take out some of the juice and shred the meat. I then add 3-4 Tbsp of Brown Sugar and stir. Its excellent!
These are my doctored up Pinto Beans.
This corn was also a recipe I tryed for the first time yesterday.OMG I'm so glad I did its amazing!!! The only thing I will do differently next time is double it ;) It is a dip but I served as a side dish :)

It was a chilly day and since we don't get many chilly days here in Texas I had to make something for the occasion so I made this Taco Stew another first!
This is my boyfriends recipe for Pico De Gallo! I will post one of these days but pretty much my boy just throws it all together and it always tastes PERFECT!
This is also my boyfriends recipe for Guacamole. Again hes really good at what he does he throws it together and you have PERFECTION!
For this Picadillo I had this recipe http://cooking.nytimes.com/recipes/1016814-picadillo but I did change a lot to fit our preferences.
I have used a lot of Mexican Dip/Taco Dip/7 Layer dip recipes but no more searching I found this amazing one of course Pioneer Woman's I did add stuff to the sour cream layer  I added 4 oz cream cheese and a packet of taco seasoning other then that I followed the recipe and it was great!!

These cookies I came about a few months back I was actually just in a gas station but they had a stand with some cookies they looked yummy and I love cinnamon so I knew I had to try...OMG were they good. I have been looking for a good recipe and yesterday I found it! By the way these taste soooo good with Hot Chocolate!
The last thing was the Sopapilla Cheesecake Pie! Easy and Delicious. This always comes out just right! I love these!

Last night everything really turned out Delicious. We had a great dinner with great neighbors!

Oil Pulling

This year I want to try to detox my body in the ways that I can....I'm not big on actual detoxes hehe but I will do the little things that are supposed to help a lot. Oil pulling is one of these things. I have been researching oil pulling for a little less than a year now. When I first started looking into it I was like how am I going to keep oil in my mouth for 20 minutes??? Another thing is I know a lot of people are big fans of Coconut oil but I don't like Coconut blahhh. So I would always have a reason I couldn't start. As soon as we got home from our Disney World trip this year I told myself at least just try it. I started with Sesame oil because a lot of people still say that is the best one and since again Im not a fan of Coconut I went with it. I didn't think I could keep it in the 20 minutes the first time either but I did!!! The taste wasn't bad honestly it didn't really have a taste!!! I did the Sesame oil for about 3 weeks! I did 2 tsp of this. After my bottle ran out I then tryed the Coconut Oil because a lot of what I read say that one is the best for your mouth in general. I am still on my bottle of Coconut oil and I do 1 TBSP of this for 20 minutes as well.  I think I will continue to switch them out as I run out unless I start noticing one works better for me. :)

Here are a few of the benefits of Oil Pulling:
*Detoxifies the mouth
*Whitens Teeth
*Helps freshen breath
*Reduces Headaches (one of my good friends actually agrees with this one 100% the days she doesn't pull she gets headaches)
*Helps with allergies
*Some people have reported it helps with skin issues
*Less Jaw pain
*Improves Health of your Gums

There are quite a few benefits of this Oil Pulling! If you haven't tryed it I suggest you give it a try even if just a for a week I think you will for sure notice a difference.

Oil pulling first thing in the morning is the best time to do it. 20 minutes is the time to do it some people don't do it that long but it is the recommended time.  Always spit in the Trash Can when your done NEVER in your sink. Rinse your mouth with water some people suggest salt water I just rinse my mouth with warm water!
