Super Bowl 2014

We had a great Super bowl Sunday. We did just a small little get together with our neighbors and had a great time. It's too bad the Broncos lost and didn't really do much at all :(  The kids had fun playing on the Wii and coloring ....they weren't much into this whole super bowl thing which actually surprised me a bit since they really like watching the games with daddy....maybe because it was not the Cowboys so they weren't into it. 

 At the last minute I saw some snackadiums on pinterest and thought sure why not Ill do one but just a simple one. It wasn't much but I'm glad I did it because this is what I placed in the living room and it made a nice center piece. I did one a few years ago for Sele's Birthday party which was way more work than this one but like I said I wasn't actually planning to do one :)Very Last minute idea but came in handy!
 I made a pizza dip for the center just doubled my recipe. Then I put chips on all the sides and 4 more little dips on the corners. I put some of the queso on one corner,salsa on one corner, french onion dip on one corner, then Sele made some awesome Guaco and we put that in the last corner. I used almost 4 12 packs of soda for the outside. I had a few leftover so we just kept them in the kitchen. :)
Our neighbor Jenn brought over these amazing Buffalo wing sliders. These were soooo good.
Of course I had to make the Buffalo wing dip. This is a super easy dip but a must have at sports events. I just use a pack of softened cream cheese and spread on the bottom of a pie plate. I then get my cooked chicken and shred it which I do in my Kitchen Aid Mixer which makes it sooo easy. I throw that on top of the cream cheese pour some Blue Cheese dressing over the chicken ( you can also use Ranch dressing instead of Blue Cheese) Pour hot sauce or wing sauce on top of that and just top with shredded cheese. I bake at 350 for about 20-25 minutes. Always such a big hit. 
The queso! I used a whole block of Velveeta cheese chopped it into small pieces and put a can and a half of Rotel Tomatoes in and microwaved it. I always start at a minute and a half than stir then go down to just a minute and stir and continue till its all melted. When it was all melted I moved it to my crock pot. I also put some in the corner of my snackadium :)

I used that recipe but of course made a few changes. I always cook it the night before. It makes it taste sooo much better. 
I did my crock pot hot dogs. Yummy!!! As you see I'm still supporting my Cowboys!! We will make it to the Super bowl soon!!

Football Brownies. I made a batch of brownies and cut them out and then just did the little decoration on them.
I used that recipe but doubled it!
I bought a cake on Saturday because I didn't actually know if I was going to have time to make any dessert. I had a super busy weekend. In the end I did make two desserts but can you ever go wrong with more dessert???

I also made cornbread which for some reason I did not get a picture of it and we ordered wings from Wing Stop!! My love always needs his wings. It was a great night with family and friends.

30 day WalMart Challenge

I'm in for another challenge...a challenge I created for myself. I'm having so much fun with my other challenges :) I figured out I spend way too much money when I go to Walmart and I go way too often. I mean you go in for one thing and you see all this other stuff that you just "need" and you get it. I don't know how people go in just for one thing and come out with just one thing go them!! That's not me though :( I decided when I was in line the last time which was Friday Jan 17th I need to not come here for a while and I bet I would save money :) That's how my 30 Walmart Challenge came to be.  So there it is we will see if I can stick with this challenge as well. As of today I'm on my 5th day without Walmart. I'm very proud of myself ;) I know this is not something that I had to post but I figured it would make me stick with it more since I'm posting it and more people will know about it ;) 

I did it!!!! I actually did it more than just 30 days!! Im sooo proud of myself hehe. I did notice I made a few more trips to Target blahh but I think we saved some money and I sure saved time! Febuary 27th is when I broke my challenge and I went! It was crazy its like just in the time I was gone they got soooo much new stuff. I'm going to not go again for about a month just because I know I can do it now. We will see. I'm just so happy I stuck with one of my challenges.

New Year New body???

Hey! Happy 2014!! I hope everyone had a great Christmas season. Its a new year and of course a big thing I have been wanting to do is loose this baby "baby" is 3 yrs old :) My girls were so easy on my body but my baby boy that's a different story it took me till this last October to finally get the scale to move but that was good because I was starting to think the scale would never move. :( I did so good during the Holidays. The last week for some reason the weight just keep going up and I don't like that and I don't know why?!?! I'm not eating out as much, I'm working out more and I'm drinking more water so wouldn't that be the perfect recipe for loosing weight :(  I think its stress again though blahhhh now its back to normal life no happy holidays hehe. Anyways to hopefully kick start my butt back into gear I joined a dietbet :) and I'm doing the 90 day FREE challenge on . It is HARD people and I'm only on my 2nd day but who knows maybe I will finish it and maybe it will help me loose weight I'm hoping. I'm back on tracking everything again too. I hope all of this will help me. I would like to say for the past 2 days Ive been doing a drastic eating thing and I don't like it at all. Its making me cranky haha so I think I might need to not be soooo drastic on the food I mean come on I love my food :) I'm going to use this to update you guys how I'm doing with everything and hopefully this will be the year that I can get to my goal weight :) I do have good reasoning behind this all too. I want to be healthy and have more energy and another big reason I want to be in pictures with my family my sweet kids and boyfriend look perfect in all the pictures duhh....because they are and I look like flubber haha :) 

Here's to the new year and hopefully reaching our goals for this year. Happy 2014. 

By the way......another big goal of mine is to post more which I think Ive been saying that for the past few years but again hopefully this will be the year :)

My biggest goal of all is to be a better mother and person in general. I want to do way more with and for my kids and do more family stuff :)

Day 15: This is a day I didn't do the workout and I ate sooo bad :(  Other than that so far I have done all the workouts and ate well... better than I normally do ;) 

I finished my Diet Bet and I made it :) That's a good thing I'm very Happy. I like this Diet Bet thing it puts my butt into gear. I've only done it twice but both times I've made my Goal! Go me :)

Update: Its March 3rd and I have been out of my Bikini Body Mommy challenge for a while now. :( I did about a month which is still very good for me but no where near 90 days. I'm still working out so hopefully I will get to my goal weight soon. I'm 6 pounds away now!!! :)

Smurfs Movie Night

I was born in Belgium so Smurfs are BIG to me :) We never did anything or even watched the whole Smurfs fully. So I knew we had to make an event out of Smurfs 2 coming out :) So we did. We went to build a bear the day before the movie came out and both the kids made a smurf....Serenity named hers (Smurfette) Kitty. Tru named his (Papa Smurf) Egg yep Egg :) Then we went home and got ready for our Movie night to watch the Smurfs :)

 We just did two fun eats :) For this movie since we had a regular dinner.

Sprite and a drop or two of Blue food coloring then I put a scoop of Vanilla Ice Cream in each cup. I topped it with some Spray Cool whip and a Fresh Cherry. We used Blue fun straws just to make a little more fun.

The next day we went nice and early to see the Smurfs 2. They were giving out lots of fun free stuff. The kids got Smurf posters,coloring pages,and cute Smurf tattoos. They got their little fun packs with a smurf cup and straw and popcorn and a small candy. We had a fun couple of days :)

Blueberry Bisquits

My dad loves Scones and Blueberries :) I get a bit tired of making Scones all the time but wanted to make something for my dad for the weekend. I was searching the Internet when I found some very tasty looking biscuits at They did not disappoint at all. They make 6 large biscuits and my dad ate 3 at one sitting :) He loved them.

2 cups of Flour
1 cup of Milk(cold)
1/3 cup of Sugar
5 Tbsp Butter (Cold or Frozen)
4 Tsp Baking Powder
3 oz Blueberries (Fresh or Frozen) I used Fresh

They were soooooo good on their own I did not make a Glaze but for those wanting to put Glaze here are the ingredients you need :)

1 cup of Powdered Sugar
1/8 Cup of water
1 Tsp Vanilla
1/2 Tsp of Lemon Juice

Preheat Oven to 450 F. Mix Sugar,Flour,and baking powder in a bowl. Add the Super cold milk in the dry ingredients and mix. As the dough begins to form take each Tablespoon of hardened butter and break chunks off and spread evenly over dough. Fold dough, and knead and keep repeating until all the butter is spread in chunks evenly throughout the dough. Move dough to floured cutting board and roll flat to about 1/4-1/2 thick and cut approximately 6 Biscuits with a biscuit or cookie cutter. ( I just used a round cup) If you notice the butter start to melt during this process you may need to return the dough to the freezer for 10-15 minutes. Do not let it sit in the freezer for more than 20 mins. ( I am in Texas in the middle of summer I did have the AC on but it was still very hot in my kitchen and I did not need to put in the freezer) Place in oven for about 7-12 minutes. Melt 1 Tbsp of butter in the microwave, and brush on the finished biscuits with a pastry brush.  Mix the glaze ingredients in a bowl, and drizzle over the Biscuits with a fork. 


Lion King Family Movie Night

We just kicked off our Disney Family Movie Nights to get ready for our Disney Trip. We started with Lion King because they all just love that movie.

It was easy to make and the kids loved it of course.
This was the rest of the dinner for the adults and Serenity went straight for the broccoli too :) That's my girl she loves her broccoli. The broccoli was our "Tree of Life". Our Drum Sticks were our "ZaZu's Chicken Legs"  I got these clever names from

For the drinks we had "Jungle Juice"
What I used since I could not find Passion Fruit Juice anywhere was :
1 part Orange Juice 1 Part Guava Juice and 1 Part Pineapple Juice

Then we had our Snack Bar Area that they got treats from as the movie went on:

Our sour worms and Dark Chocolate Rasinets (Timon & Pumba's Grub)
Little Debbie Snack Cakes (Zebra Cakes)

I just used refrigerated sugar cookie dough for these something simple. (Nala's Paw Print Cookies)

This was Daddy,Papa,Tru and Serenity at the end of Movie Night...Papa and Daddy look a little tired but not the kiddos :)

After I made peanut butter I wanted to make some more home made "healthy" things. So Applesauce was next on my list. Another super simple recipie and my Serenity loved it and thought I was the best mommy ever haha. 

I got 5 apples peeled,cored and chopped them into small chunks. Put them all in a pot and put a little less than a cup of water in and 2 tsp of cinnamon.Cover the pot and cook over medium heat for 20 minutes or until soft. When they are cool mash with a fork or potato masher. Store in the refrigerator. I will only keep for about a week though. :)
