Detox Bath

I know I've said it before but this year I'm really trying to clean my body up in any way that I can. I know my eating isn't great I do try to eat clean a week out of the month and will try to increase that number but in the mean time I'm going to try to clean my body in the ways I'm doing. I started the Detox baths 4 weeks ago. I take one every week. I stay in for 20-25 mins. I did a simple one but what I've read is supposed to be one of the best. You just need two things!

 1 cup of Epson Salt
 1 cup of Baking Soda
Pour both into a Warm bath! They say the hotter the better I do mine warm/hot not too Hot because I don't feel too comfortable when it's too hot. Maybe in time :) I have also read where people say staying in 40 mins it's better for you then just 20. In the 20 minute time you do get your detox in!!

You need to be careful till you know how your body will react to the bath. People have felt light headed and have headaches after. The best time to do this bath is right before going to bed because you will get your energy sucked out of you for the time being.

A Night in Mexico

Last night we had our two neighbors over for dinner. Our theme was Mexico! Here is what we had!!

These beef enchiladas are awesome!! I'm not even a beef enchilada fan and I will NEVER order them at restaurants but these baby's I will EAT!! I found this recipe about a year ago and made them but when everyone was saying how good they were I had to try and man were they right these are the best!
This Chorizo Chicken I never made before but it was one of those recipes I pinned and looked awesome so I figured our dinner party was an excellent time to try it. I only used 4 chicken breasts because mine were big and I didn't use any cheese! This was a very good recipe.
This Ropa Vieja is awesome every time I make it people ask for the recipe.
I use a 4lb Chuck Roast instead of 2 lbs of Beef Flank Steak and I double the whole recipe. The last hour I take out some of the juice and shred the meat. I then add 3-4 Tbsp of Brown Sugar and stir. Its excellent!
These are my doctored up Pinto Beans.
This corn was also a recipe I tryed for the first time yesterday.OMG I'm so glad I did its amazing!!! The only thing I will do differently next time is double it ;) It is a dip but I served as a side dish :)

It was a chilly day and since we don't get many chilly days here in Texas I had to make something for the occasion so I made this Taco Stew another first!
This is my boyfriends recipe for Pico De Gallo! I will post one of these days but pretty much my boy just throws it all together and it always tastes PERFECT!
This is also my boyfriends recipe for Guacamole. Again hes really good at what he does he throws it together and you have PERFECTION!
For this Picadillo I had this recipe http://cooking.nytimes.com/recipes/1016814-picadillo but I did change a lot to fit our preferences.
I have used a lot of Mexican Dip/Taco Dip/7 Layer dip recipes but no more searching I found this amazing one of course Pioneer Woman's I did add stuff to the sour cream layer  I added 4 oz cream cheese and a packet of taco seasoning other then that I followed the recipe and it was great!!

These cookies I came about a few months back I was actually just in a gas station but they had a stand with some cookies they looked yummy and I love cinnamon so I knew I had to try...OMG were they good. I have been looking for a good recipe and yesterday I found it! By the way these taste soooo good with Hot Chocolate!
The last thing was the Sopapilla Cheesecake Pie! Easy and Delicious. This always comes out just right! I love these!

Last night everything really turned out Delicious. We had a great dinner with great neighbors!

Oil Pulling

This year I want to try to detox my body in the ways that I can....I'm not big on actual detoxes hehe but I will do the little things that are supposed to help a lot. Oil pulling is one of these things. I have been researching oil pulling for a little less than a year now. When I first started looking into it I was like how am I going to keep oil in my mouth for 20 minutes??? Another thing is I know a lot of people are big fans of Coconut oil but I don't like Coconut blahhh. So I would always have a reason I couldn't start. As soon as we got home from our Disney World trip this year I told myself at least just try it. I started with Sesame oil because a lot of people still say that is the best one and since again Im not a fan of Coconut I went with it. I didn't think I could keep it in the 20 minutes the first time either but I did!!! The taste wasn't bad honestly it didn't really have a taste!!! I did the Sesame oil for about 3 weeks! I did 2 tsp of this. After my bottle ran out I then tryed the Coconut Oil because a lot of what I read say that one is the best for your mouth in general. I am still on my bottle of Coconut oil and I do 1 TBSP of this for 20 minutes as well.  I think I will continue to switch them out as I run out unless I start noticing one works better for me. :)

Here are a few of the benefits of Oil Pulling:
*Detoxifies the mouth
*Whitens Teeth
*Helps freshen breath
*Reduces Headaches (one of my good friends actually agrees with this one 100% the days she doesn't pull she gets headaches)
*Helps with allergies
*Some people have reported it helps with skin issues
*Less Jaw pain
*Improves Health of your Gums

There are quite a few benefits of this Oil Pulling! If you haven't tryed it I suggest you give it a try even if just a for a week I think you will for sure notice a difference.

Oil pulling first thing in the morning is the best time to do it. 20 minutes is the time to do it some people don't do it that long but it is the recommended time.  Always spit in the Trash Can when your done NEVER in your sink. Rinse your mouth with water some people suggest salt water I just rinse my mouth with warm water!

Valentines Desserts

For Valentine's this year we stayed home and pretty much had another Family Valentines dinner :) This one we did grown up food but fun desserts. We had steak and Salmon! The kids and daddy decided to eat outside and they decorated the table for me how sweet!!! As we were eating outside we realized our neighbors had the same idea :) it was pretty funny Valentines night and soo many people eating outside ;)

The first dessert we have here is this amazing Strawberry Mousse Brownie Cake!
Here is where I got the delicious recipe:
This was the kids favorite dessert of course! I got this awesome idea from:

I used one of my go to no chill sugar cookie recipes for the spoons and I made extra heart cookies! I also put icing on my spoon then the sprinkles instead of baking the sprinkles into my cookies just to give the kids more sugar haha!! For my pudding cups I used the ones we had at the house which were the hot cocoa ones and they came out delicious!!
This is just my favorite chocolate cake made in heart shaped pans and I trimmed it with chocolates!!
My loves favorite thing for Valentines is Chocolate covered strawberry's so every year I make him them to enjoy! Sam's has the best strawberry's around Valentines the big juicy stemmed ones!! I just love them!
Here is a picture where you can kind of see the table daddy and the kids decorated for me!!
I hope you all had a wonderful Valentines day too!!

100th day of Kindergarten

Yesterday was Serenity 100th day of kindergarten...I still can't believe she's in school, my little love bug is growing up. Anyways, we did some fun stuff the day before and the day of and here it all is!

The day before I made this for the teacher...I made a mistake and got a little bigger flower pot then I needed because I ended up using around 150 dum dums but it still looks cute and who is really going to sit there and count right?!?! I saw a picture of this on pinterest and knew Serenitys teacher would really like this. I put stickers on the flower pot that said 100 days then I just took some paint and painted it all over the letters and made a thick border. Let that dry and take the stickers off then you have the wording :) I then hot glued a Styrofoam ball to the inside of the pot and then just stuck dum dums all over the Styrofoam. There you have the teachers gift!
The first thing we did when Serenity got home from school on Tuesday was do her school project. She had to glue 100 things to the board 10 rows of 10 and they all had to be the same thing. We decided on these cute Pink Heart Marshmallows. She's just like her mommy she loves Pink and hearts!! She did all the counting and I hot glued them to the board!
When she was done with her school project we did the fruit loop necklace! She first made 10 piles of 10 she did 2 piles for each color except Orange she did not want Orange on her necklace :) She then decided when she was putting them on she wanted to do the 2 piles of each color together :) I think it turned out really good. My baby did GREAT!

Those were the 3 things we did the night before her 100th day! She went to bed early because she knew she would have a busy day ahead of her.

She
For breakfast on the 100th day I made sausage and the mini Eggos...Tru had the same breakfast of course and they both had 2 servings ;) Super simple but the kids got a huge kick out of it!
Here's a picture of my Kindergartner with her breakfast!
This is Miss Serenity on her way out to school! She's wearing her 100th day shirt!!
For her lunch I made her peanut butter and Jelly Sandwiches and just cut out the numbers with cookie cutters! She actually ate this for her snack which turned out good because we came to have lunch with her and brought her Subway!
Serenity also ate this at snack but shared a cookie hehe. All the is is a half of a graham cracker and 2 cookies! My computer was messing up and I couldn't print a bag topper :( She did not care of course...does she ever actually like the outside of it he treats at all probley not  she just wants what's inside :)

I made these cupcakes for her class. I made these the morning of very simple but I wanted to do something. I used a boxed cake mix oh nooo :) A yellow cake mix :) I did make my chocolate frosting to frost them with so it's a semi home made treat :)
I used the lifesaver Gummy sours for the 0s and sour string which I just cut into pieces for the 1!

I just needed 20 cupcakes to bring into school so with my extra Tru and I decided Serenity needed a extra after school treat!
We sang her Happy 100th day of school and she got another cupcake :) She had a GREAT 100th day of school!!!

100th day of school Shirt

This Wednesday will be my baby cakes 100th day of school!! They are having a little party and they have to do one project for school but I wanted to do a little more. Today we made a shirt tomorrow we will make a necklace and on Wednesday we will have a special little dessert for her!

I got a White tee from Wal-Mart and I printed out on tshirt transfer paper It's my 100th day of school. I ironed that on and then came the fun part.
I bought two packs of those hearts that have the sticky stuff already on them. Serenity made 10 piles of 10 hearts so she got a 100. When she was done with that she would take the little white paper off the hearts so the sticky stuff would be there I put a drop of glue with my hot glue gun then she told me where she wanted the hearts and we pressed them on.
I think it turned out super cute and she loves it. We won't be able to wash it or anything but it will serve it's purpose on Wednesday and that's what matters.

Mickey Treats

We came back from Disney World 2 weeks ago...and every time we come back we always have a Disney picnic with our babygirl. We picked up some BBQ and I made the sweets! Here are the 3 sweets I made!

Mickey Cupcakes
These are Oreo cupcakes with butter cream frosting. I used one big Oreo and two mini Oreos to make a Mickey and then put some sprinkles around them. I found the idea of the top on Pinterest but it was just a picture no page :(

Funfetti Mickey Cookies

These are just Funfetti cookies and when I baked them I made one big ball and two small balks which I placed close to the big ball where the ears should be but not touching and when they cook they blend together to make Mickey!

Mickey Marshmallow Treats

This is a mini version of what I actually had the last day in Disney World. It was soooo good. Its just a marshmallow treat that I cut out with a little Mickey cookie cutter then put melted chocolate all over the top and stuck little peanut butter chips all over it!  This was my favorite!
